About the stone:
Charoite is a rare and captivating gemstone celebrated for its extraordinary shades of violet, lavender, lilac, and deep purple. Its mesmerizing swirling patterns, silky luster, and intricate natural textures create an appearance reminiscent of flowing silk or a painter's brushstrokes. Often accented by contrasting white, gray, or black mineral inclusions, each stone is a unique work of nature.
Charoite is known primarily from the Murun Massif in the Sakha Republic (Yakutia), Siberia, Russia. This geographically restricted occurrence makes gem-quality Charoite particularly unusual. Although charoite-bearing rocks were recognized in the 1940s, Charoite was officially recognized as a distinct mineral species in 1978. The origin of the name Charoite is commonly associated with the Chara River in Siberia. However, some accounts also connect it to the Russian word chary, meaning charms or enchantment.
